Excerpt :
Chauncey’s is pretty busy by the time we arrive. With the place being only blocks away from campus, it’s one of the most popular bars, and our favorite hangout spot. Kevin finds a space across the street to park, and we get out, hustling across the street as rain pelts us.
“You know, you look ridiculous wearing those at night.” I point at his sunglasses.
Kevin adjusts his ball cap and stuffs his hands in the pockets of his brown hoodie. “I don’t give a fuck. I’m not in the mood to deal with fans right now.”
Dim lights and the smell of stale beer welcome us as we enter. The groups of college students that frequent here are standing or sitting around in their usual spots. Kevin and I find two empty stools at the bar, near where a bunch of frat guys are playing darts. “You’re Miss Dee Dee tonight, li’l bro,” Kevin says with a smirk, and then points out the vodka to Olivia, the bartender. I roll my eyes. It’s an inside joke Kevin and I have whenever we go out and drink. The one who’s named “Miss Dee Dee” first is responsible for driving, so they’re not allowed to get hammered.
“Whatever you say, Miss Daisy,” I say, and order my usual.
Olivia fills three shots and slides them in front of Kevin. He downs the first one in a single gulp, and then winces and hisses through his teeth.
I spin around in my stool so my back’s against the counter and watch the crowd at the dartboard. I recognize a few guys from Xi Rho Nu. The girls watch each guy who takes aim like predators assessing their prey. I look sidelong at Kevin, who quaffs his second shot. “Hey, Kev. You still single?”
Kevin looks up. “What the hell kinda question’s that?”
“An important one, ’cause . . . well, I met this girl at the club the other night, right? Name’s Trinity. Pretty sexy. Thing is, she’s one of Denise’s friends. She knows you and I are brothers.”
“Mmhmm.” Kevin downs his third shot and then signals Olivia to fill up three more.
“She’s cool,” I say. “But I don’t think we’d make a pair, y’know?”
“What? You can’t like her?”
“Not anything more than friends. I mean she already knows I have a thing for Denise. But the moment I mention your name her panties practically drop.”
Kevin smirks. “I tend to have that effect on the honeys.” Three more shots slide his way. He picks one up and tips his head back, emptying shot number four.
“She’s a good girl who’s looking for love, bro. You should talk to her.”
“Naw. I’m done with relationships for a while. Not after the shit I went through with the last one.”
I shake my head. “Seriously, I don’t think she’s anything like that. She’s Denise’s best friend, and from what I’ve seen, Denise doesn’t hang out with skanks like Justine.”
“Justine was worse than a skank.” Shot number five disappears quicker than I can blink.
“Trinity loves the fact that you play basketball,” I say.
“You told her that?”
“Yeah. And she thinks it’s hot.”
“Does she, now?” He traces his thumb across his smiling lips.
“Yup, and she said she wants to watch you play sometime.”
“Play what?”
“Basketball!”
He nods absently. Has the vodka already started to kick in?

Headaches, heartbreaks and mayhem...Yeah Shaina has 99 problems but Death is the least of them.
Will Shaina be able to heal her shattered heart and save his lost soul?

Author Bio:
Casse Narome is the alter-ego of an awesome woman who started writing her first book in 2001 when she was 18 years old and had to take a bus a hour to work and a hour home each day. Although she loved the story she admits that it was very "self-indulgent." She actually admits that it is possible that all her stories are but only because she only writes the stories she wants to read at the time. She doesn't follow fads or writing trends she is just a paranormal, young adult/new adult kinda girl to the heart! She is also goofy and loves comedy so expect that from her and in all of her books.

Casse Narome is an Air Force brat so she has picked up the odd behavior of never staying in the same place for too long. She is quite the nomad. She is never serious, has been accused of wishing her life was a sitcom laugh track and all, she loves to laugh and occasionally snorts while laughing but it’s fine “dudes find that shit sexy, right?” Casse is also very introverted, has a bad habit of talking out loud to herself and she is fine with being a little insane.
You will find her on Twitter way too much being very random and spewing her opinions. When you see her online, tell her to get back to writing!

Team Yeshua excerpt

"Can you feel me?" I asked once more prepared to let go if he said no.
I would sob that I had to wander around this place longer but I would do just that in order to find Yeshua.
I felt arms slide around my waist and grip me tight. So tight that it almost hurt. I didn't complain I just held on tighter in return. I put my head against his chest and I heard him sigh. I nearly cried when I felt him against me.

"You came for me."
"I will always come for you, Yesh. Always." Hadn't I made a similar promise to another angel earlier? Come back. I had promised to come back to Samuel. I had to make my way back through the void and into Samuel's arms. That meant I had to leave Yeshua's. I lingered a little longer in his embrace. I inhaled him, enjoying the comfort of his scent. Yeshua.

Team Samuel excerpt *steamy*

I sat down on the couch where I must have fallen asleep because when my eyes flew open I was in my room looking at the angel that I called my boyfriend. He sat in the chair by my bed and his eyes were locked on mine.
"That is kind of creepy you know. Waking up to be watched." I informed Samuel while rubbing away any sleep that might be there.
"Here I thought I was being romantic. What were you dreaming about?" He leaned forward, his back rigid.
I shrugged which turned into an all-out stretch and yawn. "Not sure. I don't remember why did I talk in my sleep?"
"You said a few words. Mainly, Samuel you are the sexiest thing ever created. I happen to agree," He joked. Oh please let him be joking.
"Shut up. Really what did I say?"
"You said 'I promise. Give me a little time and I will find it.' What will you find?" He leaned even further with interest.
I shrugged again. "Must have been about cookies." I lied. I could only be talking about one thing and to one person. It wasn't a dream. The beast wants her soul.
"Hey what time is it, I am starving?" I sat up and kicked free of the covers.
"It is 5 in the morning."
"Wow, I never wake up this early must have been that creepy feeling of being watched." I joked and gave Samuel a bratty smile.
He pushed forward from his chair and I fell backward as he pinned me against the bed. "I was just waiting for you to wake up so I can do what I have been needing to do all night."
His lips met mine in a scorching kiss. His hands gripped my waist and yanked them up against him until we were hips to hips. Oh my god. I felt him hard against my body. His need pressed firmly against me. He moaned into our kiss. Holy hell. I squirmed anxiously against him.
"Shaina do not do that." His words whispered in my mouth.
He rolled onto his back pulling me with him until I straddled him. I sat up and tugged my shirt over my head then greedily returned to his lips. His hands slowly dragged over my thighs from my waist to the
button of my jeans and undid them. I arched up and help slide them off
with well-timed wiggles.
Samuel's breathing grew heavier. "I need you."

Team Echo (okay not really)

Echo sneezed, and I raised a brow. He sneezed again.
"Are you allergic to cuteness?" I popped a hand on my hip, cocking my head in disapproval. "You are dead, how is that even possible?"
He sighed. "I am not dead, for one. Do you even listen when I speak?"
"What kind of monster are you to be allergic to a kitten? You are supposed to be better post mortem or what are the perks?" The fact that I was appalled was evident in my tone.
I waved off Echo's annoyed glare as I took Scythe from Echo. "Do you see his tiny face? I'm in love."
"Shaina put the cat away--"
"Kitten. You can tell 'cause he's so wittle-bitty!"
"Okay. Put the kitten away, please."
"Dude, away? He is a living thing. You don't put them away like a stuffed animal." I continued to nuzzle Scythe's kitten face as he squirmed.
"Shaina put the damn animal down!" His lips set in a hard line, the way they always did when he disapproved of my antics.
"Alright! Jeez. Relax. You seriously lack a heart! Are you sure you aren't dead?" I put the kitten in my oversized beach tote and told him to stay there. We all know cats are known for their perfect listening skills. Luckily, he curled into a ball and snuggled in. Maybe my cat did have mad listening skills. Yay.

Review: Branded by Keary Taylor

Jessica's got a secret...she becomes dead people.

Jessica's had the nightmares for as long as she can remember. Nightmares of being judged for people who have died, of being branded by the angels. Her friends and family think she's a crazy because of it all. Yet she carries the mark of the condemned, seared into the back of her neck, and hides it and herself away from the world.

But when two men she can't ignore enter her life everything changes, including the nightmares. The two of them couldn't be more different. She will do anything to be with one of them. Even tell him the truth about angels, why she never sleeps, and the scar on the back of her neck. But one of the two has set events into motion what will pull her toward her own judgment and turn her into the object of her greatest fear.
The Review:
I adore Cole.

This was a good Indy book. I make that distinction because there is a difference between mainstream and indie, and it's not hard to tell them apart. But that's not the point the point is, it is a good book.

The story took a little too long to get to the meat and potatoes. the filling part wasn't until a little after half way almost to the 3/4ths mark. As this book was about sleep I kept finding myself in need or wanting to take a nap.

The the slow pace had me putting down the book, often times yawning the characters had me picking the book back up. Alex was a perfect YA boy and I enjoyed the Insta-love. Yes, the book has insta-love. It doesn't bother me and I rather enjoy the trope if you do have an issue with insta-love and you push through the slow build of the story once you get to about the 85% mark of the book, you won't be able to put it down. And if you do, the characters and story will stick in your mind. The plot is a very unique twist and addition to the angel theme. I liked it.

Like all great YA novels the boys carry it. Cole and Alex are perfectly awesome. Jessica was almost not memorable, I even had to go back to the book to find her name for this review. I am hoping she comes into her own in the next book or I may start to wonder what Alex or Cole sees in her.

Cover whore: The cover has been redone. I like old cover, which is why I bought book. I am glad my book marks are of the old cover or I'd burn them. New cover? I hate. If it had this cover when I found it, I wouldn't even look twice at it. It actually makes me want to throw up in my mouth a little bit.
