Blurb-
Imogen Gorecki has a problem—her twin sister just got engaged, and guess who’s the best man? That’s right, her scum-of-an-ex-boyfriend whom she caught cheating with a bottle-blonde, with fake breasts and a stripper’s flexibility. There’s a disturbing possibility her eyes will never recover.

Gen needs a date for the engagement party, but finding Mr. Perfect in a time crunch is proving impossible. Just when she’s about to give up, she face-plants into the crotch of the sexiest guy she’s ever met.

Matt Sesnick is everything Gen wants in a man —except he’s not interested in a relationship. Can she convince Matt to take another shot at love, or will Gen’s pregnant, hormonal older sister, her bridezilla twin, and all of her past Mr. Wrongs get in the way of their happily-ever-after?

Excerpt-
“You really should change that light bulb,” Matt said, glancing around us.
“I know.” I pushed aside my wallet to dig to the bottom of my oversized purse. “I kind of take for granted that this is supposed to be a safe neighborhood.”
“Until an alien abducts you off your poorly lit porch.”
“Very funny.” I glanced up from my purse with a smile. “But really, it’s late. You could have been home by now.”
“Gen, I’m glad to walk you to your door. I would have worried about you if I hadn’t.”
I considered him as we stood there on my porch, the light flickering above us. I didn’t want him to leave, but I didn’t know how to ask him to stay. Maybe I could ask him in for a drink, though I’d already had enough.
But I have those cupcakes…
Yeah. I could offer him cupcakes. They weren’t his favorite, chocolate with sprinkles, but yellow cake with milk chocolate frosting had to be a close second, right? Hadn’t he said a cupcake will fix everything?
“I’m really glad we went out tonight.” His voice made me jump and I dropped the keys. We both bent to pick them up at the same time and bumped foreheads.
“Sorry,” he said.
“It’s okay, I’m fine.” I clasped my forehead and laughed. Probably, I sounded hysterical. Like a rabid hyena. I couldn’t even look him in the eye when I took the keys from him. “Thanks for inviting me. I had a lot of fun tonight.”
“Me too,” he said.
I put the key into the lock, turning it slowly as I struggled with what to do about him and my out of control libido. Unlocking my door hadn’t given me enough time to figure things out, though, so I tried to prolong sliding the patio door open. That didn’t take long either, and I hesitated in the doorway, still unsure. I opened my mouth to ask him in, but nothing came out. So I stepped backward through the doorway, my gaze glued to his. After a moment, he followed me inside, part of his face lost in shadows.
Time stood still. My tongue darted out to lick my lips, and I lifted up onto my toes as he lowered his head to meet me halfway. The smell of his cologne surrounded me and my eyes drifted shut. He grasped me loosely around my back, pulling me close, sending shivers coursing through my body. His breath caressed my skin, his lips just a whisper away from mine, and my lips parted…

About the Author –

Niecey Roy knew she wanted to be a writer from a very young age, but her moment of enlightenment came after watching the movie You’ve Got Mail. It was then she realized her place in life, and happily parked her butt on writing romance. Her dream was to create sexy vixens, hunky, half-naked heroes, and above all, romance; lots and lots of butterflies in the belly, breathless first kisses and happily-ever-afters.

When she’s not at her day job where she works as a legal assistant, she can be found at home at a cluttered desk, pounding her tired little fingers away on a keyboard with nothing but black pepper flavored sunflower seeds and Visine as her weapons for mass-romance-novel-creation. When her fingers need a break, you’ll find her at a table with friends, drinking a few martinis and showing off a new pair of (sometimes ridiculous) high heels. She’s usually the loudest at the table and most often the one snorting with laughter.

Niecey is the author of Fender Bender Blues, a contemporary romantic comedy published by The Wild Rose Press. Her new novel to be released November 2013, Another Shot At Love, is the first novel in the What’s Love??? series.

Review: The Elemental Prophecy #1 Envisioned & #2 Emblazed by Nikki Narvaez

EnvisionedEnvisioned by Nikki Narvaez
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This book was the type of book I loved, action packed, no lull and never boring. The characters were so likeable. The story at first glimpse something that had been done and the horse beaten. All powerful heroine, but she doesn't know it. Lies and secrets everywhere and alpha hero. See, first glance you are like okay, I've read this time again but trust me no you haven't.

The mythology made me giddy because I love that type of brilliance in a story. So if you like action, steamy love scenes and potty mouthed characters (I do!) you are going to love this book.

It ends in a cliffhanger that will make you wanna flip tables. haha.

Oh em gee gorgeous!

The mythology is the best part of the book. I thoroughly enjoyed all the gods. I also liked seeing Jace being needed. In book 1, Brielle (I know I spelled that wrong but I spent the entire book calling her Barilla like the pasta.) Jace kept trying to protect her when she didn't really need it. Hello all powerful 4 elements weilder. Yay, thank Hades she needed his help this book.

With all the action packness there was still time for sexy moments because this is NA...we need the smex.

The story was super solid and the cliffhanger makes sure readers will return for book 3. Hopefully it is soon.

Another breathtaking cover. wow.

Review: The Voice by Jennifer Anne Davis

The VoiceThe Voice by Jennifer Anne Davis
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I say this a lot but this was not at all what I expected. I have adopted the habit of not reading blurbs and synopsis which leaves me surprised a lot.

Wow, the emotion was great. My heart was in my throat most the novel. Audrey was really freaking brave and realistic. I was looking for a book that would scare me for a Halloween post and give me nightmares, this book did just that but not the way I expected.

During the story Audrey has to deal with so much icky stuff. She has to learn to forgive and move on in order to heal and it seems so impossible. Her parents aren't any help because they have too much guilt. Her Aunt and the neighbor boys were a Godsend. I found the sheer coincidence of Caleb and Justin with their background along with Audrey's being next door neighbors to Aunt Kate a little much. Not nearly enough to ruin the story but I may have rolled my eyes once.

I am so glad I read this story and I think it was executed very well for such a heavy issue. I think this is a one time read for me since it is emotionally draining. I think everyone should read it, because it is very poignant and just emotionally breathtaking.

Cover Whore:
The cover is what drew me. The wide-eyed despair is perfect and intune with the books topic.

Review: Nephilim Warrior Trilogy by K.A Young

Prophecy of the Female Warrior (Nephilim Warriors, #1)Prophecy of the Female Warrior by K.A. Young
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This book grabbed me with it's raw emotion. I felt for Anna and her loss. The grief was so real. I was slightly, okay very annoyed with some parts. At her husband's funeral she feels drawn to another man enough to go to him in the rain. WTGIANTF? Her sister talks to her about moving on two days after the funeral? Can rigamortus set in please?

Besides that there were some powerful lines that left me begging for more and I ended up finishing this book in a day! It was so hot!

The key word for this book was more. I wanted more from Anna, more Torch, more hot and more story.

Book 1 set this book up perfectly and I jumped in head first. I was not disappointed. Tha banter was great and the characters drove this story perfectly. I wanted Anna to end back with her hubby, I'm such a first love kinda girl. Things happened that I so did not expect. I finished the book and was still trying to process it all and catch my breath.

A great read!

I am super shocked that Julie's book turned out to be my favorite. She irked my nerves in book 1 so hard, I kind of toyed with the idea of her dying next.

This book kept me reading well into the night. I was blown away. I was shocked that she was not the poor human sister of the female warrior, Anna. I'm kinda wishing for more Julie books. I know what a 180 from how I felt about her originally.

All publicity is good publicity, right? Unless you’re recent college grad Ellie Wagner and an embarrassing video of you and your boyfriend goes viral. Every man in your life abandons you, but who knew a one-minute clip of your latest doomed relationship would brand you a slut, prevent you from getting your perfect job, and force you to keep doing the one thing you swore you’d never do again…live with your mother.

But staying with mom and her latest boy-toy (is this husband number four or five?) until your life turns around might not be all bad. Especially when you fall – literally – at the feet of a sexy, green-eyed stranger who offers you freedom and a life of luxury on a gold-rimmed platter.
There’s only one liiittle problem – the man of your dreams is none other than Mason Nash, the latest hip-hop star busting up the music charts. Review: Reap by Christina Channelle & Guest Post

The Review
by fu The title of this book is what got me. I had to know what it was about. I had all the ideas in my head from the title alone. They were all blown away and wrong. I have read nothing like this before.
The beginning was a bit slow. Kind of stilted in its flow but the characters intrigued me early on. Dante was the super Mr Nice guy and while normally I like the bad boy, I fell fast and hard for him. There is something about him.
With Briggs I knew he had a story and I might have liked him but I can't stand a guy being mean to a girl when he might really like her. Ugh. It is one of my literary pet peeves.
The story is short and I can't say much without a spoiler alert warning because it is purely plot driven. Yay! Just know it is called Reap so death is involved, the characters are loveable and Mia, the heroine, wakes up in a strange place, with strange people without a clue on how she got there. So yeah it is intriguing.
It is a must read if you are a reaper fan. It is not your run of the mill all the same reaping tale.

The Cover Whore
It is eye catching but sadly common.

Guest Post
How hard it is to say goodbye to a world you created once you type "The End."
It’s hard to the point where I might not actually write, “The End.” That way, if I’m inspired, I can always continue the story. When I do write “The End”, I guess it’s meant to be and their story is complete. In that instance, it might not be as difficult. Although I haven’t let go of a lot of my characters as of yet, my “The Ends” solely on my short stories. Perhaps you’ll find me curled into a ball as I cry myself to sleep, moaning the names of all my characters lost when the time comes.

Blurb- Foreign, or rather unfamiliar, would be the word I would use to describe how I felt.
Faintly, I could hear the glimmer of voices surrounding me in this dark haze, caressing my ears like skin against silk. I felt like I was in a cocoon of sorts, protectively enveloped, quietly drifting in some far-off place. I wanted to stay that way forever.
But we all know that what you want never really seems to happen in the real world.
Something’s not right in Mia’s head.
The first thing is that her name isn’t Mia. In fact, she has no clue what her name is—who she is. All that she knows is that she’s not like the ones who found her: Dante with his kind blue eyes, Amy with her child-like demeanor, James with his questioning gaze.
And Briggs.
The one she cannot decipher no matter how hard she tries.
As Mia tries to fit in with these people, a strange occurrence is amidst outside. And as she finally remembers who she is …
Well, let’s just say that things get a little more complicated.

Review: Knotted Roots & Hidden Falls by Ruthi Kight

Knotted Roots
Review:
I have grown weary of books lately. They have been very dramatic with pointless stupidity happening. Knotted Roots was not like that. Roxanne (Roxie) was a city mouse in the country. I know she was supposed to come off as high maintenance but she was my favorite character in the book besides Brian. I could relate to her issues with deadbeat grandparents which is probably why I did not feel she was ever too hard on Betty. I just did not like Grandma Betty. Which kind of ruined the effect of the story. Roxie's so called best friend, Amber was a trifling bitch. I don't get how childhood friends could end like that without a bigger deal or trying. That was the one issue I found unbelievable.
Chase and Brian, I loved. Like loooooved. Brian large measures more than Chase. Only because Chase was a bit too moody. But I really enjoyed reading this story and I'd highly recommend it to anyone who likes NA high drama in moderation in a YA setting.
I was warned I'd need tissue and while I did not, you might.
Cover Whore:
This maybe one of my favorite covers of the year.
Hidden Falls
Review:
I was ecstatic when I heard this book was about Brian's HEA. I may have squealed because Katy was perfect for him. She is very funny and you almost have to like her. She is the kind of friend we all dream of having. I wanted to clunk her in the head a few times. How could she not see how Brian felt? Gah. LOL
I found it kind of awful that 1) Roxie was dating Chase knowing that Katy like him hard since forever. (Roxie even knew before hand and mentally called it in Knotted Roots.) Hello girl code! 2) Katy was still going all warm and fuzzy over Chase even though Roxie was with him and Katy chose to be her bestie. And by awful I mean eek.
There was a lot of little Katy-isms that kept me smiling and I'm glad I read this novella. I wish it were longer because Katy and Brian are probably my favorite couple out of the two Knotted Roots books in the series thus far. I adored how Brian secretly held a torch and pined after Katy all these years. *swoon*
The story was fast paced. I read it in an hour and a half. I loved Brian calling her Kitty Kat or kitty because it made me giggle every time. This is a 5 star must read.

Cover Whore:
I love it. You can just feel that southern charm oozing from Brian.
