Fifteen years ago Jared Bonatelli had it all. The youngest son of one of the founding families in the Conservatorship of The Dark Order he lived a life you only thought existed in novels and nightmares. He had just graduated from Oxford University and became engaged to his childhood sweetheart when he lost it all in one violent act. The very next day he found himself shipped off to New Orleans with only the money in his pocket and whatever he could fit in one suitcase. Since that night he has suffered reliving his fiancĂ©’s murder repeatedly in his dreams. It isn't until he finds himself summoned back to New York for an emergency meeting of the Conservatorship that the comfortable world he lives in begins to crumble around him.

Alexandra Toscano has been searching for the one assignment that could catapult her journalistic career. When her editor Gene O’Hanlon drops a manila folder in her lap, Alex is immediately skeptical. At first glance the information he hands her seems like a publicity piece that is till she comes across an article he wrote some fifteen years ago about Vampires murdering a young woman in Central Park. She is ready to laugh it off as a work of fiction until he points out he was an eyewitness to the whole thing. But that wasn’t all. The girl’s boyfriend was a member of a prominent Italian family who vanished the very next day.

Now as Alex begins to dig deeper into Jared’s life she begins to question her own past. Could the answer she seeks be found in the glowing eyes of the one person she is sworn to expose? Or will they both find themselves torn apart by a world Beyond the Sun?

Review
It has been a long time since I have read an adult book. Young Adult books have had a hold on me but when I first saw the cover of Beyond the Sun I knew I had to break my unofficial break from adult tales and give this book a whirl.
I instantly fell in love with Jared from page one.He was strong, protective, loyal, faithful and he was damaged. That's just the type of book boyfriend I can go for. Okay besides Jared kidnapping my heart with his wounded little soul the story also grabbed me. I never wanted to stop reading. Seriously, who needs to eat?
In paranormal romance novels normally the heroines fall into two categories: TSTL and in need of a ball check. Alex was neither. I was so relieved. Don't get me wrong I did have a few grievances with the chick. One being she was ultimately going to be the one to end up with my book boyfriend. (Yes that is a silly reason to dislike a heroine but don't you dare judge me.) Okay next bone to pick with Alex is, she is a journalist and wasn't chomping at the bit for this story her boss was handing to her. I know journalist, I was one and I would have been loving the idea of this. As silly as I may think it was it has teeth to it, Also her instant biased on a group of people just because the are wealthy was very annoying. Seriously? What if he did the same because she was poor, he'd be a huge jerk but it is okay for her to do it? I just find prejudices annoying.
Besides those small things, the story was wicked solid. I was enthralled. The other characters were also very cool. I was drawn into the secondary characters. I really enjoyed reading it and look forward to reading more from Sandra Bischoff

Cover Whore
The cover really speaks for itself. What can I say besides it is dark, moody and makes you anxious to read the pages. Well done!

Girls heart Books tour: Review- Fender Bender Blues by Niecey Roy

Fender Bender Blues
Niecey Roy
May 3, 2013
Spicy Contemporary Romantic Comedy

Her life took a wrong turn. He's driven by success. They didn't count on crashing into love...
Rachel Bennett loved her job until the day she finds herself doubting her choices. Now she's hunting for a new career, but starting over isn't easy. Her plan is simple—no distractions until she finds her dream job. She didn't plan on fate throwing her a curveball in the form of a fender bender with a sexy guy in an expensive suit.
Craig Larsen is a wealthy, successful business owner with a plan of his own: survive his current PR nightmare and stay away from his overly determined ex-girlfriend. His need for control and personal success is turned upside down when he meets Rach, a sassy redhead who can't drive.
Soon they find themselves battling with Rach's grumpy old neighbor, toilet-papering the trees of a high school nemesis, and fighting over the last slice of pizza. Can two very different people plus one fender bender equal a chance at forever?

Dream Cast: I have actually thought of this a long time ago. Yes, I was obsessed with the story for awhile and this would make a great movie.

Rach- Jessica Chastain

Craig - Josh Duhamel

Excerpt:
“Now what?”
“Nothing.” Rach sniffed.
Craig shifted to eye her warily. “Since when do you answer me with single words?”
“Since I decided I’m not talking to you,” she answered with a shrug, crumpling up the white paper wrapper from her sub.
Craig leaned his face in close to her neck and enjoyed the startled jerk of her shoulders. Her eyes opened wide in surprise. His breath shifted a few strands of hair at the nape of her neck as he whispered, “Why, because you want me?”
“You’re incorrigible,” she said, breathless, her cheeks flushed.
She’s enjoying this. The thought pleased him. Rach was on her back beside him now, her eyes closed. He glanced around the park to see if anyone was watching. No one was. He could swoop in for a kiss and no one would catch him. No one would care, he told himself. She won’t mind…
“I can feel you staring.”
Craig smiled down at her. “So what.”
She peeked at him with one green eye. “So stop it.”
“And if I don’t?” Maybe she’d tackle him, push him down on the blanket and…She didn’t. She promptly closed her eye and went back to pretending indifference.
“I’ll hit you, that’s what.”
“Not if I do this, you won’t.”
He’d only meant it to be a short kiss, but the pleasure of touching his lips to hers kept him there longer. Her tongue was velvet soft and warm against his and the slow mating of their mouths quickened his heartbeat even as he told himself, It’s no big deal, just a kiss.
She nipped his bottom lip and sent heat sliding through his body. The woman could kiss.
She whispered soft against his lips, “Now why don’t you admit that it’s you who wants me.”

Review:
This has been the best book I have read so far this year!
Niecey Roy has done something not many writers can manage, she captured the voice of a select age group. The 30 Somethings. I related so much to the heroine. I felt like Niecey spied on my friends and me because she honed in on exactly how we speak. Rachel (Rach) captures everything she should to be realistic. Her relationships were organic. Now let me talk about the romance because really that's what it is all about. Swoon-swoony swoon swoon. Some parts I got dizzy I was so giggly. Yes I got strange looks for the seemingly random laughs too. The chemistry was super hot between Craig. Even early on I was feeling the tenderness during their hilarious encounters and bantering. I can't pinpoint what makes this such an awesome read but all the components are there and amalgamate into something special. Do yourself a favor grab this book, a few snacks (because you will want food) and make a night of it.

Cover Whore:
I think the cover is easy, fun and totally channels the story. The colors are bright and super vibrant.

The Author
Niecey Roy knew she wanted to be a writer from a very young age, but her moment of enlightenment came after watching the movie You’ve Got Mail. It was then she realized her place in life and happily parked her butt on writing romance. Her dream was to create sexy vixens, hunky, half naked heroes, and above all, romance; lots and lots of butterflies in the belly, breathless first kisses and happily-ever-afters.

When she’s not at her day job where she works as a legal assistant, she can be found at home at a cluttered desk, pounding her tired little fingers away on a keyboard with nothing but black pepper flavored sunflower seeds and Visine as her weapons for mass-romance-novel-creation. When her fingers need a break, you’ll find her at a table with friends, drinking a few martinis and showing off a new pair of (sometimes ridiculous) high heels. She’s usually the loudest at the table and most often the one snorting with laughter.

Girls Heart Books Tour: Intangible and Imaginable by J Meyers Reviews

Intangible
Series- Intangible # 1
J. Meyers
Publication Date-January 31, 2012
Twins Sera and Luke Raine have a well-kept secret—she heals with a touch of her hand, he sees the future. All their lives they’ve helped those in need on the sly. They’ve always thought of their abilities as being a gift.
Then Luke has a vision that Sera is killed. That gift they’ve always cherished begins to feel an awful lot like a curse. Because the thing about Luke’s ability? He’s always right. And he can’t do anything about it.

Review:
I am not sure what I was expecting when I started this book but I was surprised at how much I liked it. It was one of the few times I didn't read the synopsis so I went in blind.

The brother and sister dynamic was pure perfection. I liked most the characters instantly, especially Jonas. Actually I enjoyed all the characters except Fey. I just did not like her.

I liked the romance. It wasn't all syrup sweet like a lot of YA stories. I was not fond of Marc but Sera and his connection was pretty wow!

If you like YA and you like paranormal stories, you have to read this book. All the supernaturals in one story? Yes please. A story you will get lost in and zombify your brain by keeping you up late making you useless at work or school. This book will do that. When I read the last page I kid you not, I hugged my kindle. I hugged it so hard.

Read this book. Read it.

Cover Whore:
I love the cover. It is simple yet attention grabbing.

 Imaginable
Series- Intangible # 2
J. Meyers
Publication Date- April 16, 2013
Twins Sera and Luke Raine’s unusual abilities are growing. Sera is healing vampires now, making them human again. And, at times, Luke can actually change the future he Sees.
But Sera’s healing has dangerous consequences, and though Luke is altering the outcome of more visions, he can’t control them yet.
Now Sera is in danger as the dark creatures of the Realm seek to use her.
As Luke struggles to master his gift in order to save his sister, he discovers even more about his powers. And what he learns just may put him in greater danger than Sera has ever been.

Review:
This book started off faster than Intangible and I loved it a little more. Jonas was full of awesome and the twins came to grip with their powers more. We really got to see who Luke was more than last book.

Sera is actually put in a tough situation involving her gifts. I also love her ability with vampires. I love it. I love the book. I had an issue with Sera's lack of follow through when she was trying to imprint on people she was healing but then she just stopped trying. What? I couldn't hurt to try, right?

I still love the super natural creatures. I love the story and I love the chemistry between Luke and Fey even though I hate Fey. I love the chemistry between Sera and Jonas! Hell I just love Jonas. Love Love. Love so hard I ran out (Okay I actually just say on my ass and clicked the screen of my kindle) and bought Indomitable. I had to know more about this great character. I admit, he is my current book boyfriend.

This book has insured  J. Meyers place on my auto buy list. What ever she is selling, I am buying.

Cover Whore:
Another great cover though this one is also simple and keeps with the series but I was hoping for a little more.
